Named after His Highness Prince Charles, Royal Trek is the trek with ravishing natural and cultural beauty. It was back in the ’80s when His Highness along with 90 entourage discovered this route. And it was how the route got its name as “Royal Trek.”
Royal Trek completes in 9 days out where you will be walking for four days. It is also one of the easiest trekking trails of Annapurna. So, if you are a beginner with minimal time, then this trek can be your option. Even though the duration is little and the altitude is low, you will have an authentic trekking experience.
Your journey starts from a short drive from the lakeside city, Pokhara. You will head towards Bijayapur that is about 25 km far. Your journey begins right after you start to trek towards Kalikasthan. The trails you visit goes through alluring Gurung settlements with lush vegetation. The settlements flaunt their cultural and natural beauty in a magnificent way. On the way, you also experience an exotic range of flora & fauna.
This region is also rich in the spectacular view of majestic vistas. You can witness high Himalayas including Annapurna, Manaslu, and the distinct Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Likewise, the views of Himchuli, Lamjung Himal, and Annapurna II, III, IV appear lovely.
Royal Trek is possible throughout the year due to its moderate nature. However, spring and autumn are two all-time favorable. Further, this trek requires two permits; The Annapurna Conservation Permit and a TIMS card.
