A neo-classical garden amidst the busy city, Garden of Dreams is a great relaxing spot. Located in the neighborhood of Thamel, the garden lies around Kaiser Mahal that was built in 1920. The palace originally belonged to Kaiser Sumsher Rana and was recently restored. The whole area of the palace consists of beautiful European gardens with three pavements, an amphitheater, and a large pond at its center.
The architectural landscape of this garden is dreamy as its name suggests. In the past, many visitors were attracted by its elegance, and by this means, it got its name as “Swapnaa Bagaicha” or the Garden of Dreams.
You can simply take a walk there from Central Thamel. You have to buy a ticket before entering and afterward, you can spend all your day there. There is also a small cafe offering a variety of drinks. So, you enjoy this natural garden by sipping coffee or drinks of your choice.
The Garden of Dream is indeed like an oasis in the middle of a chaotic city. Even though the place was neglected for several decades, today there is not another place like this in the city. It’s well-maintained and well-designed giving you a glimpse of Rana’s reign and their lifestyle. Also, there is like a small museum in the central building where you get more information about the palace and its origin.
So, the garden of dreams is a perfect spot to chill, have drinks, and forget all the hustles you’ve been while trekking or traveling in Nepal!
