Pisang Peak Climbing is one of the adventurous peak climbing journeys in Nepal. Due to all the thrills this adventure provides, it’s popular amongst avid climbers. In this adventure, you climb to Pisang peak (6091m), located on the Annapurna Circuit.
Pisang Peak or Jong Ri is a pyramidal-shaped peak within the Manang District. It was first climbed by a German Expedition in 1955. Pisang lies in one of the famous trekking circuits in Nepal, Annapurna Circuit. Pisang, itself is the name of a small settlement along the route and the peak is a major attraction there.
The Pisang peak is also considered as one of the easier climbing peaks. Thus, it’s suitable for both beginners and experienced ones. The whole journey of this will take around 21-23 days depending on the weather condition of the region. Hence, Pisang Peak climbing is a great alternative to all the mainstream expeditions like Everest, Dhaulagiri, and others.
Also, this journey can be perfect for those who are a novice to climbing but aspire to climb other major peaks.
The journey begins with a ride from Kathmandu to Besi Sahar. Besi Sagar is the starting point for Annapurna Circuit. Afterward, you will continue trekking along the route. You will stay in villages like Chayamche, Dharapani, Chame, and others. Then, you will walk up to Pisang Base Camp. From there, you start climbing the peak. If everything goes well, the climb is even completed in a day.
After the climb, you will take a few day’s rests and prepare to return. You will descend via Thorong Phedi. Thus, you get to explore awesome places like Muktinath, Phedi, Kagbeni, Jomsom.
